Property description

An authentic late 1800's Victorian farmhouse with storybook charm, located in a stellar location – this is the Round Top dream. Welcome to The Poppy, one of Round Top’s most beloved and successful vacation rentals. Less than 2 miles from Henkel Square and steps from The Arbors, The Poppy is in the center of the soul of Round Top. Just under an acre and backing to a farm, occasionally with visiting cows, the property is idyllic. Step onto a front porch that's been saying hello to guests for over a century and linger over morning coffee. Architectural details include gingerbread trim, decorative fishscale shingles; original flooring & shiplap walls; period glass doorknobs & transom windows — all enchanting. The dining room's crown jewel: a wall of windows rescued from another historic home, reassembled to flood the space in light and story. Paired with a crystal chandelier dripping over the farm table, it's a moment where old-world craftsmanship gets a second act — proof that the best design details are the ones with a past. The owners were careful to preserve what is meant to be kept yet upgraded important features: new HVAC, new irrigation system, new shutters, updated lighting, landscaping & more (see list). The farmhouse is affectionately furnished with bespoke Round Top antiques, treasures, and vintage finds, which convey in the sale (excluding select items). Outside, a fire pit area with string lights offers a magical space to lounge fireside. The history continues — a classic red barn is ready for its next adventure. The opportunity to convert it into an additional revenue generating space awaits – a second guest suite, an event venue, there is no limit to your imagination. Ready to earn from day one — a seamless, turnkey transition into vacation rental ownership. Or simply keep it as your own Round Top dream for weekend country getaways in the heart of it all.
